Director Laboratory Operations

Summary:

• Supervises, coordinates, and oversees the technical activities of the department(s).
• Responsible for financial, human resource and quality management activities of the department.
• Serves as primary liaison for lab to the campus OMG.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervises all technical operations of the Laboratory and non-hospital outreach clients serviced through their department/location.
• Responsible for compliance of all operations to appropriate regulatory and accreditation agencies.
• Monitors financial performance through finance reports, adjusts operations to meet financial targets and operationalizes process and technology changes for greater efficiency.
• Manages staff by monitoring technical competencies and nurtures behavioral development through enforcement of STAR standards.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

• Must have a good general knowledge of laboratory technology in all disciplines and familiarity with regulatory requirements.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Must be able to develop and understand budget and statistical records related to their laboratory’s operation.
• A minimum of 5 years of management experience is preferred.

Compensation:

$105,000 to $165,000/year.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
