Position Summary: The Director of Health, Safety and Environment assures that all construction segments maintain a safety, health and environmental program that meets or exceeds all compliance requirements of OSHA, EPA, DOE and our clients. The position will develop best practice programs to challenge the business units to continuously improve their safety processes, awareness, reporting, and engagement. Key responsibilities will include but not limited to developing a safety program that includes risk management, accident prevention, incident management, leading indicators, training programs, corrective action management, emergency preparedness, and the prevention of environmental spills, releases and violations. Lead all HSE activities across 4 businesses ranging from utility and industrial construction and maintenance, electrical substation construction, wind turbine maintenance, and geotextile installation. Essential Responsibilities:
Establish and standardize the Health, Safety, and Environmental program while building consistency and sustainability across the business segments
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert(SME) to execute on all Health, Safety and Environmental actions by assessing practices both on Company controlled property and customer properties to influence safety behaviors at all levels of the organization
Measure progress and routinely report out on the performance of the business and lead regional safety team across construction segment to implement best practices and drive improvement
Establish a culture of safety excellence through Plan, Do, Check, Act to advance continuous improvement
Develop, implement and communicate a construction safety manual to all segments of the business with routine auditing and program reviews
Interface with customer representatives, general contractors, and subcontractors to establish safety goals and expectations for the site or project
Develop the methodology to review, monitor, plan and follow up on workplace assessments. The analysis will centralize on the effectiveness of policies, procedures, personnel and equipment within the business
Develop and implement a standardized auditing program across the Construction businesses
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong leadership skills with prior experience leading an HSE function in a construction organization
ASP, CSP required
Must be able to identify risk, implement solutions and measure compliance across the business
Strong ability to problem solve, make decisions and implement change
Must display strong leadership and organizational skills
Bachelor’s Degree required - preferably is Safety related area
First aid / CPR / AED and or Instructor
OSHA 10/30 hour and or Instructor
Lead Accident Investigator
10+ Years related experience
70E qualified and Train-the-Trainer preferred

The base pay range for this Senior Project Manager role is $131,000-$164,000 annually.
