POSITION SUMMARY


The Director, Finance is responsible for developing and managing financial and operational analyses related to retail sales, product performance, and pricing to optimize retail performance. This role involves significant data analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, sales analysis by category and SKU, designing and managing revenue projections, and conducting merchandising, inventory, and financial analysis to support strategic and financial initiatives at Envision Xpress.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE


  • Develop and manage comprehensive financial and operational reports to evaluate retail performance, including forecasting and sales analysis by category, SKU, and customer.
  • Lead pricing analysis by evaluating market conditions, demand, and cost factors to propose optimal pricing strategies aimed at maximizing profit.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, such as vendors and customers, to develop and refine pricing proposals and strategies.
  • Create and maintain database management tools, perform SQL queries, and generate reports for detailed pricing and sales analysis.
  • Assist Director, Retail Operations, in marketing and new product development by providing historical, current, and new market intelligence regarding sales and financial analytical data.
  • Research issues related to financial results and work with stakeholders to understand key financial issues and drivers while looking for ways to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze large volumes of transactional data.
  • Provide analytical data for the purpose of financial and business management reviews and/or reporting.
  • Perform various reviews and control checks to ensure the integrity of data input to the ERP system.
  • Lead projects related to accounting processes or accounting systems.
  • Monitor, track and report on data for progress related to business development, and product development goals.
  • Maintain and update analytic data reports. Provide further development and/or enhancement of reports or presentations that more effectively communicate analytical data to management and team members.
  • Identify and assess areas for operational improvement, providing actionable insights and recommendations to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Utilize a variety of software systems to compile and analyze data. Systems include but are not limited to Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Counterpoint.
  • Design and maintain dynamic data dashboards with PowerBi to track sales activities, pricing/margin trends, and budgetary performance for Xpress.
  • Conduct predictive analytics on customer purchase patterns and product line profitability to inform strategic decisions.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics or Information systems. MBA preferred.


Preferred Experience:


  • Demonstrated ability to create data dashboards or scorecards in financial and/or retail operations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical lay terms
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to help them understand how to make operations decisions based on available data
  • 5 to 7 years general accounting or data analysis experience in a retail or sales environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet applications.
  • 4+ years previous experience with ERP accounting/reporting systems, i.e., . Microsoft Dynamics AX, and/or NCR Counterpoint


Knowledge/Skills:


  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization software
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Familiarity with ERP accounting/reporting systems.
  • Ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving ability; able to make recommendations to remediate issues.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain several concurrent projects at one time.
  • Ability to work independently or in collaboration with team members.
