The Director, Enrollment Strategy leads integrated enrollment and student search projects to support strategic enrollment objectives and diverse client needs. The role serves as a trusted, go-to enrollment, search, and admissions expert for both clients and colleagues, gathering, evaluating, and leveraging key data and solutions through Carnegie’s proprietary methodology and best practices. This individual ensures that all strategies are well-informed and aligned to meet client goals and generate enrollment outcomes to ensure client success. The Director, Enrollment Strategy is a central practitioner for student search, with a deep understanding of how the various pieces of Carnegie’s data, tools, and products fit together cohesively to drive established outcomes and expectations.
Responsibilities:
Client Engagement as Lead Strategist
Lead on-site and virtual client engagements specific to enrollment and search products and services, ensuring exceptional client experiences and valuable outcomes
Lead strategist and practitioner for all integrated student search and enrollment strategies and recommendations
Facilitate calls and the creation of diverse enrollment and admissions strategy deliverables
Interface with campus leaders in formal and informal settings to establish credibility and create and maintain client relationships in partnership with the Client Success Leader
Guide clients and colleagues through a holistic understanding of enrollment and search needs
Act as an extension of the enrollment project teams, in collaboration with the Client Success Leader, to ensure a fluid and integrated client experience with exceptional enrollment expertise
Data Analysis, Strategy, Search, and Storytelling
Understand how multi-channel and seemingly-disparate enrollment data coalesces to offer unique insight
Gather data to develop well-informed and effective enrollment outcomes
Translate and synthesize the vast amount of enrollment and student search data and intelligence available to develop enrollment solutions and outcomes
Provide strategic insights and recommendations for a targeted name purchase strategy based on accumulated research data
Bring enrollment insights to and collaborate across the Carnegie portfolio
Develop clear deliverables and measurements of success that inspire and track exceptional standards across integrated teams
Cross-Company Collaboration and Leadership
Oversee cross-disciplinary enrollment and search contributions to achieve holistic results
Research clients, markets, and consumers to understand environments, challenges, and objectives
Solve enrollment and search problems of all varieties in a self-sufficient and collaborative manner
Stay educated on trends and developments in higher education enrollment and marketing
Qualifications:
Deep expertise in higher education enrollment and admissions
Proven track record in the development of enrollment and search outcomes to benefit institutions or clients
Ability to understand the needs of clients, consumers, and target audiences by processing large amounts of information and summarizing it effectively for enrollment results
Ability to collaborate exceptionally well in driving client outcomes and creating a foundation for client continuity by understanding how to recognize opportunities to extend accounts and relationships
Ability to inspire confidence in V- and C-level executives
Exceptional presentation and client management skills
Outstanding strategic thinking and communication skills
Drive to help others succeed and bring unity to many moving parts
Insight to identify problems and take measures to rectify them
Resilience to work across several projects and balance a workload
Enthusiasm for research, modeling, strategic marketing and enrollment, creative, and higher education
Interest in partnering with diverse clients and commitment to expanding access in higher education
Effective communication and time management skills for a remote work environment as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Experience
Bachelor’s degree (at a minimum) in a related field
Minimum of 7 years experience in enrollment, admissions, strategic communications, or some combination at an institution of higher education or higher education agency, or within a related industry
Minimum of 5 years experience working in higher education with Student Information Systems (SIS), Customer-Relationship Management (CRM) tools, or other relational database systems
Proven results in leading enrollment, admission, and student search projects and interdisciplinary teams with a vast array of demonstrated success
