The Director, Direct Primary Care Services is responsible for the development and execution of Grand View Health's growth strategy in the Direct Primary Care Service Line.
The primary responsibilities of the Director, Direct Primary Care Services
Partners with regional employers to develop near and long-term strategies to promote Direct Primary Care (DPC) and assure growth in patient volume, appropriate range of services, access and availability, and quality. The result of such efforts will cause the Direct Primary Care Service Line to grow rapidly over a period of 3-5 years.
Directs staff and operations at all the Direct Primary Care practice sites, assuring efficient and effective operations, suitability of the physical location(s), availability of talent, high levels of patient satisfaction, and steady growth in enrollees and revenue. Personally, supervises Direct Primary Care staff (Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, and Administrative Assistants.)
Provides direct patient services as regularly as needed to support operations during the initial Direct Primary Care contracts with employers. As the Direct Primary Care Service Line grows, the Director provides direct patient care as needed to support all operations, balanced against growing administrative duties.
Partners with Grand View Medical Practice (GVMP) leadership and providers to assure that clinical connections with the Direct Primary Care staff are strong, that appropriate equipment and devices are available at the Direct Primary Care sites, and that appropriate referrals to GVMP specialists are made expeditiously.
Maintains a strong relationship with the Direct Primary Care Service Line Medical Director, who also serves as the Director’s Collaborating Physician. Arranges for and participates in regular reviews of randomly selected medical records of Direct Primary Care providers and other quality management initiatives.
Works with the employers’ Third-Party Administrators and others as needed to assure that appropriate reports are available to the employer.
Collaborates with the Executive Director, Grand View Healthcare Partnership, to assure alignment with GVHP objectives and communication with GVHP providers.
Assures that hours of operation of each Direct Primary Care site are sufficient. Assures that appropriate, medically necessary after-hours services are available to Direct Primary Care enrollees, including electronic access.
Participates in presentations to prospective and existing Direct Primary Care employers/customers.
Develops and participates in recruitment campaigns for newly contracted employees.
Partners with the GVH finance team to develop funding proposals for major new projects.
Develops and implements that annual departmental budget.
Works effectively to identify and meet the needs of patients and the community by demonstrating customer-focused behavior.
Education and Experience
BA/BS degree, required.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner certification and license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, required.
Minimum five years’ practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, required.
Prior managerial experience OR advanced degree related to the Advanced Nurse Practitioner profession, required.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive, effective and productive relationships with administrative and clinical leadership, required.
Prior experience developing new health-care business opportunities and partnerships, preferred.
Knowledge of the regional and national Direct Primary Care health-care environment, preferred.
