Position Summary

Hart Design Group is seeking an exceptional leader to spearhead our Biopharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical Operations. We're seeking a seasoned professional, recognized in the industry, skilled in clear communication both one-on-one and in public forums. With a firm grasp of current industry trends and technologies, they’ll excel at translating concepts into comprehensive design documents. Additionally, they will possess the prowess to lead presentations, drive proposals, and orchestrate project teams to success.

Deliverables:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans for the Bio-Process Engineering department in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.

Process Optimization: Implement best practices, innovate methodologies to optimize bioprocesses for the production of pharmaceutical products, ensuring efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of process engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, evaluate their potential impact, and oversee their successful integration into existing operations.

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and quality assurance protocols throughout all stages of bioprocess development and manufacturing.

Business Development: Using industry contacts, and Professional Association Memberships to further Hart’s interests in seeking new opportunities for projects and business relationships

Project Management: Drive the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.

Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement, and implementing appropriate measures to drive positive change.

Communication and Reporting: Effectively communicate progress, milestones, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders through regular reports, presentations, and meetings, providing clear visibility into the performance of the Bio-Process Engineering department.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring technical excellence, proficiently manage bio-process design from conceptualization through detailed design and commissioning
  • All related design activities to include preparation of:
    • BOD
    • Flow Diagrams, P&ID’s
    • Layout development
    • Equipment Specification
    • Drive business development efforts:
    • Utilize existing contacts to generate opportunities for Hart
    • Lead and or Support presentations and proposals
    • Recruitment, training, and mentorship of junior staff members, fostering their professional development
    • Estimate and schedule staff assignments, ensuring efficient utilization and performance monitoring.
    • Oversee some staff HR duties to maintain a cohesive and motivated team
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
  • 15+ Years of experience biopharmaceutical manufacturing, with a focus on bioprocess engineering
  • Experience with Engineering Documents (PFD’s P&ID’s, M&E Calculations, Equipment Specifications, et)
