Summary: The Credit Officer, AVP – Credit and VP - Credit analyze and approve applications for new loans and renewals on existing PCA loans.
Position Responsibilities:
Credit Analysis, Loan Approvals and Renewals
Verify a complete borrower packet prior to starting analysis
Enters and analyze customer financial documents and information utilizing the established software programs
Review reporting output from scorecard and interprets results (if applicable)
Analyzes credit to determine borrower’s Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) upon receipt of completed appraisal or PPV
Makes final credit decisions within delegated authority and recommends credit decisions above delegated authority.
Determine approvals or denials based on Association underwriting standards
Communicates status updates to Loan Officers throughout the Association
Determines loan requirements.
Notifies lending officer of decision.
Provides information to Loan Processing Team (LPT) and lending officer for the preparation of loan documents
Reporting
Gathers information and data
Runs, compiles, and analyzes monthly and quarterly reports for Executives and/or Board of Directors
Events, Training and Education
Customer visits as appropriate
Attend regional marketing events to assist with borrower relations and OAC brand awareness
Assist regional marketplace with patronage events
Attends internal and external training meetings and conferences.
Assist with mentoring and training team members or interns
Review all credit related policies and procedures in PolicyTech
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, finance, business, accounting, or related field
Credit Officer – 1 year of related experience in agriculture or a financial service role
AVP – Credit – 3 years of related experience in agriculture or a related financial services role
VP – Credit – 7 years of related experience in agriculture or a related financial services role
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
General knowledge of accounting, credit and economic principles, practices, and methods
General knowledge of credit and economic principles
Knowledge of Word/Excel/ Outlook sufficient to create, update and save basic documents
Skill in reading and understanding income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and other financial reports
Skill in applying processes and procedures to factual data to make a logical decision.
Skill in analyzing information to formulate logical and objective conclusions
Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor, and customers
Skill in interacting and working effectively with others
Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
