Reporting to the VP Creative, the Creative Director, Consumer Brands, you will work on the digital brand ecosystem and governance across the Direct-to-Consumer Brand Portfolio. Working with the creative department and brand partners, you will work on concept development to final production of shoots for model and product photography as well as hand-on design email, ux/ui and social ad layouts and templates. Our ideal team member is an experienced Creative Director that is hands-on and responsible for multi-disciplinary oversight and thinking across the digital ecosystem.

We see the Creative Director as the brand ambassador and provide governance of the portfolio, leading the voice, tone, look & feel of everything that is visually representing the brand. The Creative Director is a hands-on person with a strong understanding of art direction in paid social, website, email design and shoot experience in both video and still. The Creative Director must have experience managing multiple projects concurrently, understand and evolve brand guidelines and design systems, have a strong understanding of all things digital (UX/UI, etc.) and most importantly have experience leading and mentoring a team of Designers, Copywriters and Brand Channel partners to create a consistent brand voice and tone across the portfolio.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Work with the VP Creative to help execute the centralized portfolio of brands as a world-class Creative Center of Excellence aimed at increasing brand performance, and improving the quality of output, leadership & empathy while overseeing the creative output of the work across the creative team.
  • Work with the VP Creative and creative team members on the development of the brand books, photoshoots and elevate the brands visually and verbally.
  • Provide day to day design feedback to the creative team on brand work to continuously elevate the work and layouts adhere to digital best practices.
  • Lead and provide feedback on brand and performance-based messaging across all creative channels (Email, SMS, Social, E-Commerce, to name a few);
  • Elevate, define and find the gaps in brand books that help distinguish the audience and brand personas of each brand.
  • Help identify bandwidth, resourcing, work in partnership with project management team.
  • Lead the full scope of shoot production (photo and video), overseeing art direction, mood boards and campaign direction at a high level for product and model photography.
  • Responsible for guiding the brand voice and visual identity, ensuring evolution and consistency are balanced with business priorities across the consumer brand portfolio;
  • Lead and work with project management on concurrent shoots, putting together teams of collaborators across different productions including photographers, stylists, artists, editors, retouchers and talent;

Requirements

  • University or College degree specializing in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Media Design, or Advertising/Portfolio school,
  • 6+ years of Creative Director experience in Digital Design or DTC space
  • Full scope production experience leading and executing photoshoots and video shoots, working with a network of creative collaborators.
  • An exceptional portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking and strong understanding of digital branding and ecosystems;
  • Experience leading a brand design or redesign from concept to inception is highly preferred;
  • Extensive digital brand-building experience including concept development; including a strong understanding of all things digital in social, email and website (UX/UI, etc.);
  • You are a tastemaker, with a killer taste level and timeless sense for beauty and fashion and understanding of trends;
  • You possess exceptional communication skills; you can present, compel, and sell;
  • Relationship builder; you understand the importance of developing and maintaining a strong network of creative contacts, and the importance of building respectful internal relationships;
  • Proven mentoring, supervisory and team-building skills (a plus if you have experience working with remote teams);
  • Relevant experience in a fast-paced, digital beauty or fashion company.
