Project Overview
United's continued growth at IAH requires the improvement and expansion of their existing facilities to maintain customer experience and exceed expectations for every part of the customer journey. In addition, the introduction of the United Next initiative results in the expansion of United's fleet and the up-gauging of key aircraft types. To accommodate this growth, United is embarking on 3 milestone projects:
▪ Improvements to the Terminal B Processor
▪ Redevelopment of Terminal B North
▪ Modifications to Terminal B South
Position Overview
The Financial / Cost Controls Manager is a key member of the Program Management Team. This position is co-located in an office with the Program Management Team including key members of the Client, A/E and CMR and provides a level of continuity and control through all phases of construction keeping the project on time and on budget. To be successful, you need a solid understanding of cost controls processes including financial and budget planning, time and cost controls and project administration. The position requires a high degree of autonomy with little supervision, and the ability to supervise and coordinate financial team members, owners, vendors, and Airport stakeholders. Responsibilities include:
Assisting with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flows, financial reports, and other financial projections
Administering project and financial/cost cost controls including budget amendments, invoices, and reimbursement packages
Assisting in providing direct oversight of the review, processing, and tracking of vendor invoices
Overseeing progress of contractors, progress reports, change orders, completion of punch lists, project completion and close-out documents
Tracking and managing project reports and documentation from Project Managers
Assisting with the preparation of project schedules and updates as well as meeting minutes, memos, reports, briefings, proposals, and other deliverables, ex. presentations, spreadsheets, charts, and tables
Developing regular progress reports for senior leaders from the airport, airline, and project management team
Experience
7+ years of Controls experience in construction
BA/BS Finance, Accounting, Business
Aviation experience preferred
Naturally collaborative team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Attention to detail and self-directed, motivated, and disciplined
Advanced software skills including E-Builder and Microsoft Suite
