Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for the role, Controller.


About the Role: They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller to join their growing global company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting, ERP implementation, and inventory accounting. A CPA with public accounting experience is essential. This role requires a high level of expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and the ability to lead a finance team in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP and IFRS.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.


Technical Accounting:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including revenue recognition, consolidations, and financial instruments.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and implement necessary changes.


ERP Implementation:

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of the ERP system.
  • Ensure the ERP system supports the company’s financial and operational goals.
  • Train and support staff in using the ERP system effectively.


Inventory Accounting:

  • Oversee the accounting for inventory, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain inventory accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels, turnover, and obsolescence.


Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.


Strategic Planning and Analysis:

  • Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to drive business growth.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a public accounting firm.
  • Proven experience in technical accounting, ERP implementation, and inventory accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
