CONSULTANT in GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE (GIM)

Applications are invited for the above position, which combines General (Internal) Medicine in Perth Royal Infirmary with the potential for sup-specialty input in the High Dependency Unit in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. This a new post to supplement our current model of inpatient General Internal Medicine and Acute Medical Receiving.

We are looking for a new colleague to help us deliver excellent medical care to our vibrant District General Hospital. Perth Royal Infirmary has a 1 in 12 Acute Medical Receiving rota which includes weekend and overnight on-call. In addition, the successful applicant will take part in postgraduate training and education along with opportunities to collaborate in research, and quality improvement.

The successful applicant will contribute to inpatient General Internal Medicine inpatients on a one in four basis in Perth Royal Infirmary. This is delivered as 2 weeks G(I)M 'hot' blocks.

Candidates should possess MRCP and be on the GMC Specialist Register in General Internal Medicine or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview for the post.
