Tara Chklovski

Chief Executive Officer at Technovation

Technovation is seeking a year-long (with possibility for renewal) full time US Program Expansion Specialist based anywhere in the US to focus on increasing the number of program implementation partners in the US. The main goal of this position is to cultivate new partnerships with local entities who will successfully implement the Technovation program with girls in their context. Please view this video to understand Technovation’s partnership structure with local program implementation partners, who can include schools, districts, nonprofits, educational networks and associations, universities, or companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an expansion timeline that includes outreach, follow up, partnership development, and initiation into onboarding that reaches our goals of closing 25 new program implementation partners for the 2025 Technovation season (September 2024-April 2025) and successfully recruiting 25 additional partners for the following year (August 2025-April 2026).
  • Identify strategic potential implementation partners. Use data to inform effort on growing partnerships in priority geographical regions and underserved communities.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective implementation partners, leveraging existing networks as well as communication strategies that bring in new partners
  • Note: Technovation will provide some existing connections but the specialist should be highly skilled in creatively connecting with new prospective partners.
  • Meet virtually with prospective implementation partners to persuasively communicate Technovation’s program, ‘train the trainer’ method of supporting implementation partners, and successful models for implementing the program in a local context.
  • Follow up with prospective implementation partners to cultivate relationships and ensure they have sufficient information to determine if and how they might implement Technovation’s program.
  • Efficiently streamline prospective partners into Technovation’s onboarding process, aligning and collaborating with Technovation’s program and volunteer teams.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify factors that impact program growth and implementation partnership development. Propose improvements to Technovation’s internal systems and external messaging to increase program expansion opportunities.
  • This position could include up to 10% travel depending on funding, partnerships, and events.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Very strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences even when sharing complex details
  • Skilled at developing mutually beneficial partnerships and identifying areas of mission alignment
  • Has a knowledge of educational and/or youth service systems and structures
  • Passion for Technovation’s mission and vision
  • Has 3+ years of experience working in either an educational environment or the nonprofit sector with strong transferable skills
  • Is highly organized and can efficiently manage large amounts of information and complex projects. Able to navigate competing priorities.
  • Works effectively with diverse people, organizations, communities, and cultures
  • Is comfortable analyzing and learning from data
  • Loves learning new things and is open to dynamic, changing environments

NOTE: This position requires a background check including a fingerprint check, per the requirements of our funder.

We Offer:

Our benefits include:

  • 20 vacation days in addition to all federal holidays and sick time
  • A paid, organization wide, week-long shutdown at the end of the year
  • 100% cost coverage of medical, dental, and vision costs for employees and a portion of the cost for partners and dependents
  • Life-insurance coverage
  • 401k program with an organization match after two years
  • Option to participate in FSA and DCA pre-tax programs
  • Tenure bonus plan
  • Remote work with core work hours and flexible scheduling

Our work environment also prioritizes these features that align with our core values:

  • Ownership: We follow a MOCHA process that clearly outlines responsibilities on a project. You will make high-level decisions about the work you do and how you will execute it. We focus on including everyone’s voices, not micromanaging.
  • Integrity: We emphasize transparency, honesty, and data in all our work and decision making. We review projects regularly, admit when we need to make changes, and use data to confirm when it’s time to try something new.
  • Equity: We value getting your work done in good quality and on time. We have core hours but start and end times are flexible in order to support what’s going on in your life, and you’re welcome to go to appointments and run errands as needed. We continue to work on promoting principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization.
  • Curiosity: We’re a small team and much of our work includes cross-team collaboration. That collaboration succeeds due to communication, organization, and curiosity as we encourage each other to learn and grow.
  • Innovation: You’ll contribute directly to an organization that provides technology education to students from underserved areas in 100+ countries, all while helping to address the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields. Have an idea of how we can do this better? Let us know! We prioritize input from our team.
