#WisdomWednesday: "There's power in spaces. When you're in a space that's beautified, it says something about your dignity as a person" Jason Wright, President at Washington Commanders during the big dig at Rocketship Public Schools.
About us
Out Teach (formerly REAL School Gardens) equips teachers to unlock student performance with the power of outdoor experiential learning. Out Teach works with districts, schools, and teachers to build professional learning programs and engaging Outdoor Learning Labs to give students access to experiential learning that can change their lives, schools and communities. Real-world, experiential learning elevates student performance. But teachers need the right training and immersive learning environments to lead experiential lessons. Out Teach provides schools and districts both.

This just in: Out Teach has been selected as a Phase 1 winner in Siegel Family Endowment and the Walton Family Foundation's $2.2 million #LearningLandscapes Challenge. As we begin the Phase 2 accelerator, read more about our concept and what comes next: https://lnkd.in/e6PNwj-x =winner?utm_medium=social-long?utm_campaign=phase-1-winner-announcement
272 submissions 📥 from 44 states📍 later... We are thrilled to move forward to Phase 2 of the Learning Landscapes Challenge with 40 winning teams! Inspired by the range and creativity of the submissions we received, we're confident that the Learning Landscapes Challenge will not only incubate future-ready solutions for learning but also provide an ongoing lesson in how we, as part of the larger learner ecosystem, can better support community-driven innovation. And this is just the beginning—there is so much to learn from the journey ahead as the winners embark on a 14-week virtual accelerator, where they will receive mentorship and technical support. Thank you to all who participated in Phase 1, including all teams that submitted, individuals that amplified the call, and judges that helped us get to this point! 🔗 Get to know the winners in the latest Learning Landscape Challenge blog post https://lnkd.in/egWDRMU9 Walton Family Foundation Luminary Labs Joshua Elder Jamie Jutila Ali Chin

This Juneteenth, we're reflecting on the historical lack of access to safe outdoor spaces for Black communities. Places people often enjoy like public parks, beaches, trails, and pools were off-limits to people of color, creating a barrier to nature's beauty and the benefits of spending time outdoors. That's why, at Out Teach, we're passionate about creating equitable education through outdoor learning spaces in historically underserved communities. We believe every student deserves the chance to explore, learn, and grow in a setting that's easily accessible, safe, and inclusive! As Michael Smith, our Director of Landscape Architecture and Outdoor Classrooms, says: "If we aren't the ones shaping the quality of our outdoor spaces, then someone else will." https://lnkd.in/dwnu-G5W Let's keep working towards a future where every child has equitable access to outdoor spaces that inspire and welcome them. #Juneteenth #OutdoorLearning #EquityInEducation
