We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercialization Manager to join our team. As a rapidly growing condiments and dressings contract manufacturer, we are looking for a solid manager to set up for success an agile, process-based innovation team. You will lead and develop the team that develops new formula and commercializes new products for existing and new customers, in adherence to an internal stage gate process. You will play a very crucial role in pushing projects through from concept to commercialization, as well as build the strength and agility of the team reporting to you.
Role and Responsibility
Manage customer product commercialization from concept through launch. This will include:
Builds and actively manages complex, detailed project timelines and project progress
Manage the flow and prioritization of projects for the team to meet internal and customer deadlines, taking into account issues, risks, and dependencies.
Provide cohesion among cross-functional stakeholders by facilitating regular project team meetings, facilitating problem-solving sessions and adding structure for resolution.
Influence a cross functional team comprised of Production, Equipment Planning, Customer Accounts, and Quality to successfully deliver each launch into the market.
Responsible for leading a team of three direct reports. Responsibilities include:
Manage, coach, and professionally develop
Manage the flow and prioritization of projects for the team to meet internal and customer deadlines, taking into account issues, risks, and dependencies
Advise on sourcing strategy, as well as formulation strategy
Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of product development process, team productivity, and ways of working
Champion a solutions-oriented approach and manage up to get what you need
Essential Capabilities
You have strong working knowledge of and experience with product development, especially in food, as it relates to formula developing, ingredient and packaging sourcing, production processes, and quality/cost constraints of contract manufacturing.
You are a competent program/project manager - organized, detail-oriented, process-oriented, strategically communicate, and can calmly prioritize under stressful situations.
You love creative problem solving, and have unparalleled critical thinking skills.
You have experience and enjoy managing people and developing a team.
You develop excellent cross-functional relationships and can handle issues/resolve conflicts with others.
You know how to manage up appropriately.
You understand deeply or desire to learn the ins and outs of consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, especially brand/customer perspectives.
