Job Description

The Commercial Services Officer is primarily responsible for developing new Commercial Services relationships with a focus on lending, while retaining and growing existing relationships. They’re a natural networker and develop partnerships to execute the organization’s goals, while being active in the community. This person must anticipate needs of all clients and is ultimately responsible for a superior customer experience. They balance their superior interpersonal skills with their business acumen and technical expertise in credit and underwriting.   • Identifies prospective clients and implements plans to develop and retain commercial business, meeting with prospects and customers of various size and complexity to achieve business development goals and promote additional bank services to our current clients.
  • Gathers related financial and general business information. Obtains and performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions, product/services recommendations, and communicated with prospects and customers to close business.
  • Performs annual reviews for existing customers including: statement gathering, financial analysis and spreads, loan presentation summary, and other pertinent collateral monitoring responsibilities for recommendation and approval.
  • Makes decisions on loans and terms if within own lending limits or makes recommendation to department head.
  • Develops a broad knowledge base of commercial products and services, including loan policy, documentations, structuring, and regulatory requirements.
  • Builds and manages a credit portfolio from existing clients.
  • Develop a sales plan to prioritize and organize revenue generating sales opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial lending, credit underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CRE, C&I, and Operating Lines.
  • Extensive knowledge of various commercial deposit services, cash management, digital banking, and overlines.
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, integrity, and honesty.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated, confident, outgoing, and positive.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail required.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage requests and priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed.

Hours

Regular business hours Monday through Friday. Some extended business hours.
