Day & Zimmermann is accepting applications for a Commercial Manager, M&C - Fossil, Industrial and Nuclear. This person will have the ability to work remote and can expect up to 20% travel.


The Commercial Manager is responsible for representing Day & Zimmermann in all commercial matters with cross-functional team that will Operations, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Finance and Legal. Identify risks and opportunities, documentation of cost and schedule impacts, and change order management upstream and downstream on identified opportunities with a focus on fixed price at risk projects. Liaison with client, D&Z operations, and D&Z functional support teams.


As a Commercial Manager, here’s the work you’ll do

•Develop and actively maintain strong relationships throughout the customer and internal site organization, including procurement, maintenance, modifications, projects, various specialties groups at the plants and corporate offices. Work with the team to represent DZMC in all commercial matters.

•Responsible for drafting and timely submitting change orders and back charges concerning changes in scope, cost and schedule. Collaborate with Operations, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal as necessary to manage and coordinate change orders before submittal.

•Work with Supply Chain to manage subcontractor and vendor relationships ensuring both commercial and contractual term flow-downs are adhered to for each project. Coordinate with DZMC staff regarding the change order process including schedule and costs impacts for subcontractors and vendors.

•Implements best practices including time impact analysis and contractual support. Responsible for documentation of cost and schedule impacts and communication with the client.

•Support projects/sites and Corporate DZMC operations and management, as required, to remove roadblocks in order to optimize success and maximize contract profitability.

•Responsible for coordinating with Legal/Supply Chain regarding client’s indemnity and warranty claims, including potential risk mitigation with subcontractors/vendors.

•Participate in proposal team efforts for new projects.

•Excellent interpersonal skills- Strong ability to influence and build relationships.

•Ability to clearly and concisely convey technical, financial, and contractual information, to all levels of the organization, internally and externally, verbally, and written and through presentations.

•Solid overall knowledge of the Power and Industrial Market and ability to close business in the areas of Maintenance, Mods/Projects, and Specialties such as Valve, QC, I&C, P&T Staffing, and Radiation Protection Services.

•Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

•Ability to work as an individual contributor in a team environment.


And if you have these qualification:

•BA or equivalent contract management experience (construction experience preferred)

•5-10 years of relevant experience

The salary range for this role is $104,000.00 - $156,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, scheduler type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
