Clinical Laboratory Director

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory operations, programs, and activities to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards and foster innovation.
• Manage staffing needs by hiring, training, and evaluating employees effectively.
• Develop strategies and execute plans to achieve departmental goals in various areas including service, quality, compliance, and financial performance.
• Maintain financial oversight of the laboratory, including monitoring resource utilization and ensuring fiscal goals are met.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and oversee supply contracts.
• Implement communication strategies to keep laboratory personnel informed and engaged.
  
  

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of laboratory processes, regulatory requirements, and billing guidelines.
• Strong communication, team-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate staff effectively.
• Proficiency in problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; Master's degree preferred.
• National Certification as a Medical Technologist and relevant state license required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive laboratory management experience.

• Reports to Division Director of Laboratory Services.
• Full-Time Equivalent (FTEs): 30.
• Beds: 209.
• Administrative oversight of lab operations and compliance with regulations.
