Prepares patients for examination by the radiation oncologist. Patients served are predominantly adults and geriatrics. Maintains clinical and office supplies. Maintains patient’s radiation therapy charts. Makes patient appointments as requested. Performs general office, patient account management and patient registration tasks. Records department activity levels and compiles periodic reports. Participates in the departmental performance improvement activities. Works in cooperation with all staff to ensure service delivered in a courteous and efficient manner. Has full access to patient health information.
Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent.
Good communication skills.
Basic typing skills, using Microsoft Office
Medical terminology preferred.
Experience working with patients and physicians such as in a medical office setting, hospital or equivalent preferred.
Medical Office Assistant (MOA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
Spends most time standing and walking.
Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; may occasionally lift up to 100lbs with assistance or assistive devices.
