Chief Nursing Officer

As the VP, Chief Nursing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of nursing practice system wide within our organization. You will provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction for nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire a team of dedicated nursing professionals while driving innovation and excellence in nursing practice.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance nursing practice, quality of care, and patient outcomes. Collaborate with executive leadership to align nursing goals with organizational objectives.
  • Clinical Excellence: Promote evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and continuous quality improvement across all nursing departments. Monitor and evaluate nursing performance metrics to ensure adherence to standards of care.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrate strong financial acumen to manage nursing budgets effectively and optimize resource allocation.
  • Staff Development: Foster a culture of professional growth and development among nursing staff. Provide mentorship, coaching, and educational opportunities to enhance clinical competency and leadership skills. Drive a culture of accountability and results, setting clear performance expectations and metrics for nursing staff.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the executive team and healthcare providers to optimize patient care delivery, improve interdisciplinary communication, and enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and licensure regulations governing nursing practice. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Master's Degree required
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing administration, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ACNO or CNO
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) competencies.
  • NY State Professional Registered Nurse License or ability to obtain.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • History of engagement with AONE and other national professional organizations is preferred.
  • History of research/publication in nursing practice and related fields preferred.

Compensation Disclosure

  • $295,000 to $362,000 per year
