The Staff Pad has partnered with a community health center outside of Tucson, Arizona. We are seeking a Chief Information Officcer to join our client's organization that has been recognized as a "National Quality Leader" by the US Department of Health and Human Services.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for aligning technology with organizational objectives and strategies at Mariposa Community Health Center. The CIO provides vision and leadership in developing and implementing efficient, innovative, and cost-effective technology solutions. This role also oversees information cybersecurity and ensures compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Communicate technology goals and strategies to senior leadership and management.
  • Manage departmental budgets and allocate funds according to approved budgets.
  • Procure, install, and maintain computer hardware, software, and other technology products.
  • Stay current with cybersecurity technologies, policies, and procedures to maintain organizational security standards.
  • Provide reliable computing services, support, training, and maintenance across the organization.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures.
  • Manage department personnel, including performance management and professional development.
  • Monitor department productivity, quality, and service costs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices to optimize infrastructure and operational costs.
  • Advise on technology-related policy and investment decisions in collaboration with executive staff.
  • Manage organization-wide IT budget.
  • Foster relationships with IT professionals and associations to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure data integrity and security through regular backups and cybersecurity measures.
  • Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer, overseeing information security directives, training, and audits.
  • Develop and test IT disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Promote a positive work culture and uphold organizational policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information and patient health data.
  • Stay updated on cybersecurity and HIPAA best practices and implement relevant policies and trainings.
  • Adapt and lead change initiatives in a dynamic business and technology environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technology-related positions.
  • At least 5 years in a CIO or equivalent leadership role.
  • Experience in managing network, systems, and data center technologies.

General Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English (oral and written); Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Experience supervising IT directors or similar roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in navigating complex situations and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Strategic alignment of IT with organizational development initiatives.
  • Knowledge of IT strategic planning and its impact on information management and business processes.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, computer architecture, and software applications.
  • Proactive and innovative with effective change management skills.
  • Ability to interpret user needs and direct solutions.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in building and securing hosting and networking infrastructures.
