Our Ultimate Candidate Profile:
You are a finance badass - this is simple - you either identify with this statement or you don't. We are looking for someone who breathes finance all day every day.
You are even more skilled with Excel and accounting software now than you were earlier in your career and you are the go-to person every day for your team as the true expert on automating processes with financial tools.
You got into accounting because you loved the numbers and felt at home in the weeds while appreciating the big picture
You have a degree from a good school that you worked hard to get, working part-time or even full-time to pay your way
You joined an accounting firm out of college, sat for the CPA, and passed on your first attempt, working in the audit practice for mid-market companies for a few years
You then realized working within a CPA firm wasn't your calling and you wanted to join a team to focus on growing a business and your skills
Over time, you grew from a staff accountant to a manager to a controller or directly to CFO, and you've always been the go-to expert on the fundamentals while equally comfortable working with CEOs, boards, and outside investors
You are on a never-ending treasure hunt to find waste and eliminate it. You look for small and large leakages in the business model, margin structure, payment cycles, and even seemingly small things like expense reporting controls to ensure there is near-zero waste
You push your CEO aggressively to make sure the company is producing profit and investing properly in quantifiable ROI projects rather than calling everything that is really waste an "investment."
You are dedicated, hardworking, and motivate your team to achieve their best, but you also appreciate a culture that supports work-life balance. You push your direct reports, your peers, and your superior(s) hard. When decisions are made, if you agree or not, you execute relentlessly in the direction that has been decided upon
You are not a person who leans heavily on your team for technology expertise or has let any of your accounting fundamentals get rusty.
