What You'll Do
The Sr. Manager of Category Strategy will own the development and execution of strategic category initiatives & insights for all categories across the KIND enterprise. This position is the subject matter expert for category trends, shopper behavior, demand spaces and key retailer strategy. Responsibilities include working in partnership with Category Management / Consumer / Brand Teams, and Customer Teams (internal & external). Additionally, the role is responsible for assisting in identifying and addressing new and existing business opportunities, to include innovation materials and topline selling stories. The Sr. Manager of Category Strategy is responsible for supporting material execution with sufficient lead time to support opportunity identification, gain category leadership at strategic customers, and to drive key category strategies forward. In addition, this position will represent and explain key insights, including the P2P process and category vision independently to external and internal senior management as needed. Primary responsibilities include:
Lead expert in the analysis of syndicated (Nielsen / IRI) data and household panel data leading to key insights and business recommendations on the key sales controllables of distribution and assortment, pricing, and promotion
Has a broad understanding of category business and key industry and category drivers
Establishes customer category priorities that are consistent with goals and objectives as defined by the customer
Leads the development of Category Vision to drive key customer recommendations and execution
Owns and delivers insights and fact based selling material for internal and external meetings
Develops impactful customer specific category growth recommendations in support of key business building initiatives
Owns and develops strategic selling initiative support weaving together the brand story, demand spaces, and innovation insights

Strong industry / sales knowledge with emphasis on category management, demand space research, and selling story capabilities

You have...
Minimum Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 5-7 years consumer products industry experience; 2-3 years in category manager management
People management experience preferred
Strong syndicated and panel data knowledge (Circana, Nielsen, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $107,500 to $128,625. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
