Cauldron is a leader in bioprocessing services and precision fermentation for industrial-scale production and is seeking a Director to lead the design, construction and commissioning of our cutting-edge manufacturing facilities. This strategic leadership role, reporting directly to the Head of Operations, is integral to achieving Cauldron's visionary goals and is a pivotal member of the Operations Leadership Team.

 

Capital Project Management:

  • Deliver Cauldron’s portfolio of Capital Projects in the USA and Australia
  • Spearhead the successful design, construction and commissioning of Cauldron’s first Contract Manufacturing Facility. optimising design, refining cost estimates, and adhering to aggressive timelines in alignment with global best practices.
  • Provide strategic O&M input into capital projects, including RAM, CMMS preparation, and maintenance and operations philosophy, adhering to international standards.
  • Initiate engagement with approval authorities, ensuring compliance with global regulatory frameworks and best practices.
  • Manage the key interfaces required to successfully establish a Contract Manufacturing Organisation in selected regions: Joint Venture, Government, Lenders
  • Serve as the key interface for Cauldron team emphasising collaboration and synergy in line with global leadership standards.


Governance and Risk Management:

  • Develop and Implement the Cauldron Capital Project Delivery Framework
  • Govern EPCM contracts with a focus on international standards and administer government grants efficiently, following best practices.
  • Ensure that Cauldron facilities are adhere to global best practices in Process Safety.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to global Regulatory and Quality Management Systems, incorporating industry-leading governance practices.
  • Actively participate in international standards-based committees, such as ISO, and facilitate facility audits following industry-leading practices.
  • Manage the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) system in accordance with global best practices.

 

Financial Management Excellence:

  • Implement and manage capital budgeting, ensuring alignment with international financial standards and best practices.
  • Provide regular and transparent reports on budget performance, reflecting a commitment to financial best practices recognised globally.

 

People & Culture Leadership:

  • Build the Cauldron internal owner’s team required to govern and deliver on committed capital projects.
  • Foster a culture of engagement and excellence in line with global best practices, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Oversee employee training aligned with global operations best practice competency standards.
  • Conduct regular employee meetings, annual performance appraisals, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) meetings, following global best practices.

 

Key Requirements:

  1. Ensure the safe delivery of high quality precision fermentation facilities in accordance with Cauldron’s capital project pipeline.
  2. Accountable for Process Safety in Design.
  3. Shared accountability for the Process Safety and Reliability performance of commissioned facilities.
  4. Ensure compliance with global legislation, internal standards, and regulatory/quality standards.
  5. Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of operating facilities, following best practices recognised worldwide.
  6. Educational Background: Advanced degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience. However don’t let this limit you, your ability to learn and constantly bring new thoughts that are commercially viable and yet out of the box are what we are looking for. 

7.     Proven Track Record: Demonstrated excellence in Capital projects delivery ideally within the environment of scaling businesses in emerging industries.
