Salary: $79,000 –$90,000 Grade: 14 Status: Exempt

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Business Ministry Director and Operations Coordinator (BMDOC) will provide oversight of all departments that are part of the Kroc Center Business Ministry section and is the position in charge of the Kroc Center facility and overall operations during the absence of the Kroc Administrators. This position will work in conjunction with the Kroc Administrators to provide support to all business-related departments and will work collaboratively with Kroc departments outside of Business Ministry to assure the alignment of efforts in support of The Salvation Army (TSA) mission and the Kroc Center vision. The BMDOC will assist business-related departments in the development of programming and other services designed to enhance the Kroc member, staff, guest experience, always ensuring that such services meet the financial needs of the center. The BMDOC will play an active role in managing outside vendor agreements, assuring that work performed matches expectations. The BMDOC will work with leaders and staff in Education Ministry, Wellness Ministry, Building Ministry, and Congregational Life sections to align Kroc services that result in high customer satisfaction levels. The BMDOC will plan, organize, and implement operational procedures that maximize center success, as measured by financial sustainability, agreed/established program outcomes measures, and mission alignment. The BMDOC will be able to apply The Salvation Army policies and procedures that will assure continuation of the Kroc Center’s nonprofit, 501(c) status.

Qualifications

Duties

  • Provide oversight of the Business Ministry areas that provide support for activities related to programs and services offered to members and guests of the Kroc Center.
  • Works with Kroc Center Administrators and other members of the leadership team to develop and maintain overall strategies, priorities, and operating direction of the Kroc Center.
  • Creates an environment of continuous improvement, working with Administrators and Directors to establish and implement measures for all departments that meet staffing and budget objectives.
  • Develops and evaluates staff policies and procedures and maintains Kroc Operations manuals, coordinating with HR and other relevant departments at both the local, divisional, and territorial level to ensure implementation of procedures consistent with Salvation Army directives and regulations.
  • Conducts regular reviews of Kroc Standards materials to ensure maintenance of “gold level” Kroc Center rating; takes a lead role in preparing for the Kroc standards review and presenting relevant documentation that shows standards compliance.
  • Provide support for activities related to service delivery and program quality.
  • Review financial statements, rental sales and human resource headcount activity reports, and other Business Ministry performance data to measure objective program progress, offer recommendations in areas needing cost reduction and improvements.
  • Work with the Finance department to produce a functional and balanced annual budget.
  • Assume supervision of a variety of Business Ministry departments, and work with leaders of these departments to develop and implement staffing plans that provide for efficient and effective department operations.


Requirements

  • College degree in business or related field, master's degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of general business and operations management experience, with responsibility for profit/loss, financial and human capital in the service sector, preferably in the area of wellness and fitness center management and/or human resources, sales and marketing.
  • Ability to complete work in compliance with Salvation Army policy and procedures.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five (5) years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
