We’re seeking a Business Development Specialist to work as a liaison between our Carolinas Transportation Division and our Marketing Department. If you're experienced in project pursuits, proposal & presentation management, client management and development, and capture planning, with a background in the A/E/C industry - we'd love to hear from you!


As a liaison between the Carolinas Transportation Division and the Marketing Department, you will be expected to provide quality control and oversight for active marketing initiatives, client management activities, as well as active and potential project pursuits. You will also provide insight into the efforts and growth of competitors and potential teaming partners.


Your Primary Responsibilities will include

  • Lead project research and tracking in the Carolinas for DRMP’s Transportation Market Sector to identify potential clients and understand their needs.
  • Migrate all transportation potential leads and current pursuits to Deltek Vision or other applicable CRM for tracking and forecasting.
  • Research and track the performance of firms across the Carolinas to better understand our competition and potential teaming partners.
  • Maintain library of past transportation selections and their associated documents for future project research.
  • Work with Project Managers to prepare and present Go/No-Go recommendations to the Transportation Leadership Team.
  • Develop comprehensive project-specific capture plans in conjunction with the assigned Project Manager that outline project win strategies, including key decision-makers, messaging, and teaming partners.
  • Provide oversight and quality control for LOIs/SOQs/Technical Proposals produced by the Marketing Department for the Carolinas Transportation Division tailoring content to client needs and RFP requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between marketing and technical staff for interview and presentation preparation for shortlisted pursuits in the Carolinas region.
  • Provide oversight and quality control for all transportation-related brochures produced by the Marketing Department.
  • Provide oversight and quality control for all transportation project award submissions produced by the Marketing Department for the Division.
  • Provide oversight and quality control for all transportation resume and project experience updates.
  • Develop and execute targeted client outreach strategies, including attending industry events, conferences, and meetings to network and promote our firm.
  • Track and analyze sales pipeline data to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.


What you'll need

  • Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in the A/E/C industry required, with 8+ years of proposal & presentation management, business development, and capture planning preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to forge strong relationships with clients, professionals, and your team members.
  • Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Understanding of the transportation engineering industry and its challenges (a plus).
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
