Brief Description Of Duties
The Head Coach of Basketball is responsible for initiating various aspects of the Basketball Program, such as recruiting within the school, training, and coaching the members of the Basketball program. Coordinate the development and promotion of the Basketball program. Assesses player’s skills and assigns team positions. Organize and schedule practice sessions. Maintain supervision of each student-athlete under the care of the basketball program. The head coach of basketball is responsible for various aspects of the basketball program, including recruiting from within the school, training and coaching team members, coordinating the development and promotion of the program, assessing players' skills and assigning team positions, organizing and scheduling practice sessions, and maintaining supervision of each student-athlete under the care of the basketball program.
Maintain constant checks of student athletes’ grades and conduct. Recruit within the school, train, and coach the members of the Basketball program. Coordinate the development and promotion of the Basketball program. Assesses player’s skills and assigns team positions. Organize and schedule practice sessions. Teach life skills and develop character. Timely and effectively communicate with the athletic director, parents, players, and administrators. Determines game strategy based on the team’s capabilities. Maintain and secure all Basketball equipment and uniforms. Manage court care and maintenance. Administrative tasks include making sure all eligibility documents are completed and submitted timely. Inventory documentation is turned in on time. Hold a parents/guardians meeting with all student-athletes parents/guardians before the first official practice. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury. Represent KeMS/CMCSS and the Basketball program in a professional manner.
Special skills, qualifications, or education: Knowledge of TSSAA rules and policies.
