The Electrical Assembler plays a key role in the functionality of the boat. Did you know there is more electrical line in a boat than in a home?
Position Overview
The Electrical Assembler assembles and performs 12-volt wiring on consoles, T-Tops or cabins, and performs troubleshooting duties.
Physical Requirements
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required which may include safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, gloves, chemical resistance aprons, and chemical resistant suits.
Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs requires a team lift effort.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. The work location may be 60°F to above 100°F ambient in areas of production.
Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment
Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned)
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Minimum of three years of experience in electrical assembly or equivalent preferred, with strong preference for those with multiple line and workstation/cell experience
Electrical certification preferred
Must possess extensive electrical knowledge
Must be proficient in troubleshooting electrical problems
Must be proficient in reading blueprints and schematics
Previous industrial training or teaching experience preferred
Marine assembly experience highly preferred but not required
Must have demonstrated ability to work independently, without supervision
Must have excellent communication skills, centered on an ability to transfer knowledge in an instructional, helpful manner.
Must show a passion for continuous improvement, and an ability to recognize needed program changes to respond to production challenges.
Must be able to work overtime if needed to meet production goals.
Must be able to attend off site training if necessary, to stay current with supplier electrical and electronic systems.
Must follow all safety and quality standards at all times, including chemical handling standards and PPE (personal protective equipment)
Understand and follow verbal and written directions
Ability to use hand, and pneumatic tools
Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity as well as a team environment displaying mutual respect
Ability to fluently speak, read, understand, and write English
Hourly Premium shift differential for working nights

Shifts
We have multiple shifts to fit a variety of availability which include:
4 – 10 hr a day work weeks
Applicants who receive a conditional employment offer will be required to take a drug test.
Overtime may be required based on scheduling needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needs evolve.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
