Billing Assistant

This is an entry-level remote position that supports the billing team in executing the Firm’s billing processes, and its focus is to learn all functions within the department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position and reports to the Controller.


Primary Responsibilities:

· Assist billing team with reviewing and preparing bills in accordance with client and vendor guidelines.

· Works with legal assistants and attorneys to support them in their efforts to properly bill their clients.

· Researches, resolves and communicates any issues associated with electronic invoicing.

· Accesses and runs billing reports, as needed.

· Provides other administrative support to billing team.

· Maintains the confidentiality of all financial matters exposed to during the course of performing job duties.

· Maintains flexibility to work overtime as needed during time critical deadlines, such as month-end and year-end closing.


Required Skills and Experience:

· Must have strong computer skills, be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Must have good organizational and analytical skills, able to handle multiple demands, prioritize tasks and handle the pressure of meeting deadlines.

· Able to work in a team environment, as well as independently, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· One or more years of work experience in a professional environment, preferably at a law firm.

· High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
