Audio and Video Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers and video cameras

·        Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.

·        Inspecting mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to health and safety regulations.

·        Operating sound and visual equipment during meetings/events.

·        Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events to run smoothly.

·        Laying electrical and sound cables.

·        Building event stages and knowledge of rigging

·        Maintaining strong customer relations.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITES

·        Work leader -  Supervision is part-time and restricted to assigning work and supervising the efforts of a subordinate group of employees

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPEREINCE

·        Knowledge of sound, video, lighting equipment

·        Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems

·        Knowledge of filming and sound mixing techniques.

·        Excellent troubleshooting skills 

·        A keen eye for details.

·        Good communication and interpersonal skills

·        High school diploma or GED required. Formal OJT or apprentice program preferred.

·        Forklift certification preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

·        Will be required to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays during events

·        Working conditions are indoors with occasional outdoor exposure

·        Non-office environment

·        Work involves moderate exposure to usual elements, such as damp/wet surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, non-toxic fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises

·        Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, occasionally moves objects weighing up to 100 pounds

·        Will frequently communicate with co-workers: must be able to exchange accurate information

·        Constantly positions self to perform essential functions, moves about buildings and operates tools and equipment
