How can you make an impact?

As an Associate Portfolio Manager at McGraw Hill Higher Education, you will drive the product strategy for college-level course materials in your assigned portfolios (discipline areas). You will develop and deliver the portfolio roadmap to meet market needs and to align with commercial and strategic priorities. To accomplish this, you will partner with internal stakeholders in content production, marketing, sales, and customer support.

This is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere in the United States. Occasional travel may be required, such as attendance at customer events, on-site meetings, and the annual sales meeting.

What can you expect from the position?

  • Produce agreed-upon portfolio roadmaps that outline the short-, mid- and long-term portfolio vision and priorities, and maintain visibility throughout the business.
  • Manage approximately 30 product revisions at a time in various states of completion and scope.
  • Own author relationships, including compensation and contract negotiations, succession planning, and release planning.
  • Drive growth through sound financial/P&L decisions, efficient resource allocation, and strong execution (including schedule management).
  • Acquire and manage new authors and subject matter experts who will create and deliver innovative products to support the strategic portfolio plan.
  • Analyze financial, usage, and/or research data to understand market trends and product performance to create data-informed decisions.
  • Develop creative new ways to use McGraw Hill’s content, platforms, and authoring tools to fuel growth.
  • Run customer-facing activities to ensure products are developed and launched in accordance with pedagogical requirements of the markets.

What you’ll bring to the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3 to 7 years relevant experience, preferably in the ed tech industry.
  • Self-driven, with a track record of starting and executing large projects.
  • A natural curiosity about content, education, and technology.
  • Customer-facing experience is a plus

The pay range for this position is between $55,000-$80,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
