THE OPPORTUNITY

The Associate Director of Publishing Insights will oversee all of insights and data efforts across KRAFTON's publishing portfolio of select emerging titles. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Insights & Analytics, you are a critical function within organization that works in partnership with peers in Product Marketing, MarCom, Growth and Partnerships to help strengthen our understanding of success across our Publishing activities.

You are strategic and analytic with a blend of business and data expertise and can easily translate this knowledge into actionable strategies. A new role within the organization, this position offers the opportunity to build out the insights discipline efforts that are integral to the DNA of our organization.

We are looking for someone who can help inspire confidence in the use of data and insights to inform business decisions. Success for this position is measured by the ability to distill data and research into actionable publishing strategies for our portfolio of titles and help inform upstream planning activities to help teams understand what KPIs the work needs to deliver against.

Simply put, you help the organization understand what good looks like and make us smarter by providing insights into how to achieve successful outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Insights Leadership
    • Help identify KPIs early on in the publishing development processes and stay close to teams throughout the planning and go to market phases to ensure the metrics of success guide decision-making at every stage.
    • Be the trusted advisor to internal teams and external studio partners on sources of data and the meaning behind them.
    • Continually evolve the insights discipline, keeping your finger on the pulse of insights tools and capabilities.


  • Insights Gathering + Application
    • Identify and build up our internal roster of insights tools and capabilities to help our cross-function partners understand the what, how and why of audience behaviors, motivations, barriers and media consumption habits.
    • Utilize quant and qual research methodologies to assist in bespoke insights studies; helping to identify the unique whitespace to inform publishing strategies.
    • Inform forecasting and growth efforts with deep dives into the category and competitive landscapes, helping our teams understand the headwinds they might face with publishing activities.


  • Hypotheses + Testing
    • Develop processes and implement test cases to prove out the business value of publishing activities that can then be scaled after demonstrating success.
    • Guide strategic hypotheses and work with our partners in Martech implement testing activities.


  • Reporting + Optimization
    • Work with executional teams to develop measurement plans for all publishing activities.
    • Develop and maintain the reporting dashboards for publishing activities, prepare and present the data in plain speak to cross-functional leadership and executive stakeholders.
    • Work closely and be deeply invested in the successful outcomes of publishing activities through optimization recommendations in-flight.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in an insights function, with at least 1 year in an insights leadership role; ideally in gaming, entertainment or sports. MBA a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of insights fundamentals, research methodologies and basic data gathering tools and a familiarity with how to pull quick cuts of syndicated data or dive into a research brief with your counterparts and frame up the opportunity spaces.
  • Familiarity with publishing analysis, measurement and attribution tools such as Gamesight, Qualtrics, Tableau, Brandwatch, GWI, MRI and Nielsen.
  • Comfortable setting up your own reporting dashboards and reporting on data regularly.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action who can come to a point of view and make recommendations on the best course of action.
  • Proactive style that runs towards challenges.
  • Team player that thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Korean bilingual is a plus

In California, the expected salary range for this position is $170,000-$195,000. The listed expected salary range represents a good faith estimate and the actual pay may depend on a variety of job-related factors that can include experience, education, skills, and location.
