We are pleased to announce that our President and CEO, Jan Finn, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO). Jan began her career as a registered nurse in Joplin, Missouri. Since joining Midwest Transplant Network (MTN) in 1990, she has been a pioneer in organ donation, promoting collaboration, data-driven strategies and continuous improvement. Under her leadership, MTN has implemented innovative programs and established itself as a leader in the field. Jan's influence extends beyond MTN. "She is truly deserving of this Lifetime Achievement Award," says Steve Miller, AOPO’s CEO. She has served as president of AOPO and the North American Transplant Coordinators Organization, been a member of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Board of Directors, and chaired the Donation Board of Trustees for MTF Biologics. Her dedication to the organ procurement community is unparalleled. Please join us in congratulating Jan on this well-deserved honor!

As we celebrate Juneteenth it's important to note that African Americans make up 13% of the U.S. population, but 28% of those are waiting for an organ transplant. Signing up to become a donor can save lives and bring hope to those on the transplant waiting list and their families. Join the registry here: https://lnkd.in/gYeJvGJD

In this month’s Story of Hope, we honor the life of organ donor Joe Hecht and how his family is finding comfort in his gift of life. “I want our girls to remember that we can’t control what’s going to happen to us. We don’t know what the future holds, but we know we can be kind. And even the worst situation can still turn into some good,” Melissa, Joe’s wife, said. #GiveHopeShareLife #StoryofHope Read Joe’s story here: https://lnkd.in/g_DcmRPq
