The role

As Associate Director, Government Relations and Public Policy, North America, you will be responsible for supporting and advancing HelloFresh’s public policy efforts in the USA and Canada. As part of your responsibilities, you will drive and deliver key objectives supporting the current North America Government Relations function, including monitoring, assessing risks and opportunities, and interacting with senior stakeholders. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and have an immediate impact on HelloFresh’s reputation among them.

What You’ll Do

  • Support HelloFresh’s government relations department and strategy for the USA and Canada
  • Collaborate with different functions to define business related objectives and metrics and help create and advance market strategies in line with stakeholders expectations
  • Identify and join key industry groups that will help leverage key business objectives and relationships
  • Create proactive strategies to build stakeholder relationships and mitigate business operational risks.
  • Develop a strategic positioning and long term engagement plan
  • Track and monitor legislative and regulatory activity for high impacts to the company.
  • Closely collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business and markets
  • Engage with key political and wider public stakeholders to establish a trustful dialogue
  • As part of the Global Government Relations Team you will report to both the US General Counsel who is based in New York and Global Head of Government Relations and Public Policy who is based in Berlin.

What You’ll Bring

You have a minimum of 10 years of experience working government relations for an e-commerce or CPG company and have a strong understanding of the US and Canadian political landscape (previous experience in legislative relations, regulatory agencies, and/or other governmental relations is strongly preferred)You have a strong political network (including relevant trade associations and think tanks) and a track record in successful relationship building and political influencingYou have a strong business acumen and interest in and knowledge knowledge of e-commerce, preferably in the food industry and/or subscription modelYou enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are experienced in working with senior stakeholders from across the business
