June was National Homeownership Month, and The State Treasurer’s Office was able to celebrate in a very special way. The office awarded over $33,000 in unclaimed property to Neighborhood Housing Services, a nonprofit that believes individuals are empowered through homeownership. NHS of Chicago recognizes the impact of race, income, and social status on a person’s housing security. Knowing homeownership is a foundation in community development, their teams work to stabilize and revitalize low and moderate-income communities throughout the greater Chicagoland area and suburbs. Since 2015, the Treasurer’s Office has returned over $2 billion in assets back to Illinois residents. To learn more about this program, visit https://bit.ly/4aSzrEG

It was a pleasure to attend Institutional Investor Week in Newport, RI! It was a great opportunity to connect and learn with institutional investors and asset managers across the country. It was a privilege to have the office awarded with the AlphaEdge Award for Real Assets Investment. This was awarded to both Treasurer Frerichs and Chief Investment Officer, Joe Aguilar.
