An assistant security manager assists the security manager in overseeing all aspects of the Security Department. He/she is in charge of developing security measures and assuring the overall security of all members of the organization. Including patrolling and inspecting property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity. Responsible for handling security equipment such as surveillance devices, alarms.
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
Controls traffic by directing drivers.
Assist in directing and administering the patrol of the interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions
Work as a team player with a commitment to outstanding customer service
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
Ensure compliance by all security personnel with Company and departmental rules and procedures.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Assesses site's training needs and conducts additional training sessions when and where necessary
Perform other related duties as assigned
An assistance security manager must be able to solve practical problems quickly and efficiently when the need arises. He must be able to handle paperwork and fill out reports for management. He must be able to communicate well and be suspicious with all activities happening inside the establishment at all times. He must effectively respond to questions and concerns raised by top management, customers and security staff as well as. He must possess supervisory and management skills as he takes the place of the security manager when he is not available. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. 3 years of Security, military, or police experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Great communication and people skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Weekends required. Holidays required
