Assistant Golf Professional - Full Time

POSITION PURPOSE:

As an Assistant Golf Professional, you will ensure that each golf guest is provided a warm welcome upon first contact and offer assistance in locating hard-good and soft-good merchandise and respond to any questions pertaining to these categories. Ensure flawless execution of any duties pertaining to special events in an effort to improve overall guest experience and increase hard-good revenue.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Display a professional appearance and attitude, and remain courteous to guests at all times.
• Perform efficiently and effectively the opening and closing golf shop procedures daily to ensure a well maintained and professional golf shop operation when needed.
• Provide a warm welcome to golf members and guests who are entering the golf shop and immediately inquire as to how we can offer assistance or support.
• A complete 360 degree awareness of guest activity is required to ensure guests are provided warm welcome as they will be coming from all directions.
• Build rapport with golf guests and resort guests when time permits by inquiring about their stay and informing them of the resort’s history, activities, and offerings.
• Provide Golfer registration service at the golf shop check in counter by confirming their reservation, course, and time.
• Follow appropriate accounting LSOP’s with cash handling, bank contracts, Credit Card information, customer information.
• Educate golf members and guests about the Doral history, course information, amenities that are offered, and when asked provide golf professional support regarding the game and our industry.
• Act as a leader on the golf professional and retail teams an act as a liaison between the two departments.
• Work with management to identify sales goals, revenue growth opportunities and track revenue.
• Provide support to golf reservations via telephone inquiries regarding the golf operation and tee times.
• Provide directions to the first tee, driving range, putting greens, Jim Mclean School, Spa, Restaurants, meeting rooms.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all others in the retail and golf operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the inside and surrounding golf shop area to include perimeter golf shop patio area, World Golf Championship Globe, ceiling tiles, windows, mirrors, shoe cleaner next to Champions grill entrance, golf shop counter, and designated floor space.
• Secure shop and monitor customer activity to prevent loss and damage.
• Help to identify and grow successful product lines.
• Work closely with management to develop merchandise plans.
• Professionally wear and promote the uniform program to guests.
• Provide merchandising support and inventory management in the equipment and footwear sections.
• Act as point person on demo day and equipment launch events.
• Provide training on equipment to fellow golf professionals and retail associates
• Perform any number of reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing to enhance the golf operation and retail experience.
  
  

OTHER:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry, that we are in a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Potential areas of support may include GBS, starter ranger and driving range.
  
  

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

Assimilate into Trump National Doral Miami Cultural Foundation through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience working in a golf environment.
