Assistant Director of Residential Programs

The Assistant Director of Residential Programs is responsible for ensuring therapeutic programming across the SIPP Program is consistently provided to children receiving treatment. The Associate Director functions as a member of the client's treatment team as outlined in the policy and procedures manual and ensures the milieu's needs are met.

  • Understands treatment needs for all clients and provides therapeutic activities when needed.
  • Coordinates care of clients among other disciplines.
  • Supervises SIPP Recreational Specialist and ensures quality recreational activities are provided to youth receiving services
  • Supervises SIPP Teacher and assists with school academics and activities coordination
  • Supervises Unit Supervisors to ensure continuity of care across cottages
  • Assists program director with resolution of client grievances.
  • Ensures each client is assigned a special counselor in the prescribed time period.
  • Coordinates client education with other disciplines.
  • Coordinate volunteer group activities on campus with youth and staff
  • Ensures that adequate competent staff is available at all times to meet the needs of the client population served.
  • Manage online staffing schedule to minimize overtime expense
  • Maintains a system for adjusting the schedules and/or staff to meet the need of the clients as required.
  • Assists the program director in developing and maintaining program rules and regulations.
  • Evaluates all new employees after 90 days of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Follow disciplinary procedures by continuously monitoring staff performance for positive actions and deficiencies noted throughout the year.
  • Demonstrates interviewing skills to hire employees whose skills and attitude are in line with the agency.
  • Assist with agency required staff trainings.
  • Consistently follows proper guidelines and procedures for intervening with a physically aggressive client.
  • Ensures that RC documentation is accurate and completed within set timelines.
  • Prepares necessary reports and information in a timely manner.
  • Ensures client needs and services are provided within departmental guidelines.
  • Assists the program director in monitoring and maintaining the program's expenses within the budget.
  • Actively implements recommended interventions from treatment team meetings within milieu.
  • Delegates/assists recreation staff in planning and implementing the activity schedule.
  • Accurately manages petty cash and activity funds.
  • Assists education providers integrating home and school milieu for clients.
  • Assists nurse manager integrating nursing staff within the milieu.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social services with experience working with mental health populations
  • More than 2 years supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in computer programs and software

Salary: TBD based upon education and relevant experience.

Physical Demands

The employee will be required to talk, hear and see; be able successfully complete Crisis Prevention training which requires physical components, including bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting, to ensure the safety of clients and staff; stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.
