Fairfield Prep is currently seeking qualified candidates who are energetic and passionate educators for a full-time position as the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry.
The Assistant Director of Campus Ministry works closely with the Mission and Ministry team members and reports to the Director of Campus Ministry. The Assistant Director is responsible to address the multifaceted faith formation needs of the student body in the areas of service, retreats and liturgical ministry. The Assistant Director of Campus Ministry’s primary focus is to develop and oversee the “programs through which students experience what it means to labor with and for others in building a more just world” (Standard 14: Our Way of Proceeding). The Assistant Director of Campus Ministry will continually seek out opportunities to help students engage in service and reflection and promote Fairfield Prep’s Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Primary responsibility for organizing, supervising, and implementing Fairfield Prep’s Ignatian Service Program
Communicate and collaborate actively with the Mission & Ministry Team and the Theology Department regarding service requirements for all students.
Provide support and formation for all domestic and international immersion experiences.
Organize, supervise, and execute the local Urban Plunge retreats.
Recruit and train adult leaders and facilitators of domestic and international immersion trip.
Serve on domestic and international immersion trips.
Organize and supervise the Ignatian Family Teach-In conference in Washington, D.C.
Organize and supervise the Mite Box and all service drives (food, clothing, etc.) held at Prep in collaboration with Faculty Department Chairs including the Great Ignatian Challenge.
Collaborate with the Communications Department in maintaining and updating the Ignatian Service section of Fairfield Prep’s website.
Collaborate with the Director of Communications to ensure Ignatian Service programs are well advertised in our publications.
Collaborate with members of the Mission and Ministry Team on sacramental and retreat experiences.
Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, preparing and overseeing department budgeting in consultation with the Director of Campus Ministry

REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree required in related field; Master’s degree preferred.
A deep understanding of Catholic social teaching and Ignatian principles.
Experience organizing and leading immersion programs for high school and/or college students and working with a Campus Ministry team preferred
Ability to multi-task and integrate technology into work flow
Impeccable written and oral communication skills
