Admission & Assessment Coordinator - PRN, 7p - 7a

Job Summary: Adequately assesses patients experiencing emotional distress to determine the appropriate level of care indicated based on syptomology. Interviewers’ skills require knowledge of our admission criteria, local resources available for non - admits, good communication skills, and ability to engage the patient. Demonstrated ability to utilize diagnostic criteria to assign a diagnostic impression. Keeps clear and accurate written documentation. Knowledge and ability to document using appropriate psychiatric terminology.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required

  • Apply principles of logical and/or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understands technical information applicable to job function
  • Responds quickly in an emergency with appropriate action.
  • Communicates with people.
  • Follows and/or give precise instruction.
  • Records and interprets information accurately.

Education: Registered Nurse, BS Or Master’s level

Experience: Prior inpatient hospital experience preferred or equivalent. Two years of work experience in a psychiatric related setting.
