The role:


As an Actuary in our reinsurance brokerage firm, you'll be an integral part of our deal-making process, delivering high quality analytical outputs to support reinsurance submissions, and designing structures and solutions to support clients’ strategic objectives. A client facing role, this position requires strong communication skills alongside a keen eye for detail and strong technical capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Take a leading role in preparing detailed analytical insights and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders to support reinsurance submissions.
  • Manage and consistently liaise with markets on Prospective and/or Retrospective transactions.
  • Be able to utilise critical thinking during structuring to drive successful outcomes for both clients and markets.
  • Build and maintain dashboards of key performance metrics, presenting complex findings and insights in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Contribute to the development of Bridge Analytics, by assessing the capital and value creation impact of various reinsurance solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate complex contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential reinsurance transactions, examining financial data, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, market trends, and regulatory changes to provide valuable insights and strategic guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with other business functions including Finance, Actuary, Client Services, Operations and C-Suite.



Qualifications:


  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, startup, non-traditional environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field.
  • Qualified Actuary (FCAS, FIA or equivalent).
  • 4-8 years of experience in analytics, preferably within the reinsurance, insurance, banking, legal, or consulting sectors.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance concepts, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with legal contracts and the ability to decipher complex contractual language.
  • Experience in Reinsurance Pricing and Capital Modelling is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Proven track record of managing several projects simultaneously whilst delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working remotely within a global team and travelling as required to meet clients and markets.
