Accounts Payable Specialist

Tandy Leather is looking for our next Accounts Payable Specialist in Fort Worth, Texas! As a key part of the Tandy accounting team the Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure invoices are paid timely and codded accurately in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented , a problem solver and a team player who is willing to adapt to new processes.

Responsibilities

• Coding invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
• Handles vendor correspondence via phone or email
• Matches the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.3-way match on purchase orders.
• Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices
• Tracks unentered invoices by reason (not received, not approved, etc.)
• Assists in the process of payments via check, ACH, wires, credit card, and mailing payments to vendors.
• Assists with monthly status reports, accruals, and monthly closings
• Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
• Files, maintains, and distributes AP related documents, records and reports.
• Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department
  
  

Essentail Qualifications

• 2 -3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience in manufacturing or retail environment
• 10 key touch
• Microsoft Office Suite / Teams
• * Excellent verbal and written skills
• * Procurement / Vendor management background desired
• Strong communications skills are required
• Exceptional proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Excel and Outlook, Pivot Tables and VLookup
• Possess critical problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to produce accurate high-quality work with attention to detail.
• Ability to work well both independently as well as within a team environment.
• Requires a proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
