TWG is conducting a search for a (Full-Time) Accounting & Finance Consultant with an industry-leading financial company based in Connecticut with multiple offices in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island that serve clients nationwide.
The ideal candidate profile:
- Has a fundamental understanding of accounting systems, and applied accounting theory, and has previous financial control assessments and structures experience.
- Possesses a strong analytical skill set with meticulous attention to detail as well as strong organizational and communication skills (internal & external), including effective communication with senior management while having the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Excel with the ability to analyze large datasets, including the utilization of Excel tools such as Pivot Tables and advanced formulas and functions.
- Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to conduct root-cause analysis and an openness to embrace and adapt to feedback.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is (strongly) preferred with a minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting and financial operations.
Role Objectives:
- Execute comprehensive accounting tasks to uphold a precise and complete general ledger.
- Support & oversee the monthly and annual accounting closure processes by promptly and accurately fulfilling assigned closing duties, including the preparation of various journal entries while ensuring accuracy and transparency; as well as expense reporting, annual budgeting process, and generating annual 1099 statements for advisor commission payments.
- Timely and accurately process diverse accounts payable transactions, encompassing the tracking of vendor invoices and employee expense reports within the internal accounting system.
- Prepare account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, including active bank accounts.
- Assist in both internal and external audit operations to ensure the integrity of financial statements.
- Participate in and occasionally lead data analysis initiatives to support informed business decisions, including data compilation and preparation for management on pertinent topics and issues.
- Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with clients, managers, and vendors.
- Collaborate with the CFO and accounting team to refine financial procedures and optimize system tool utilization.
