The Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing the InterMed Group’s accounts receivable. This individual will work closely with the Accounts Receivable Coordinator and will be responsible for processing and monitoring incoming payments ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.
What You Will Do
Prepare and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
Ensure all customer payments are properly posted.
Assist in generating monthly and quarterly billing statements.
Perform reconciliation of the accounts receivable ledger ensuring accuracy and integrity of all payments.
Contact customers or send bill reminders to facilitate payment of invoices.
Investigate payment discrepancies.
Help customers resolve any billing issues.
Identify delinquent accounts and draft correspondence for standard past due accounts.
Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Perform filing and copying duties.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Assists corporate finance department with additional projects, as necessary.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
2 years of experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of effective financial management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail are required.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires constant contact with staff and public. Work is performed in air conditioned/heated facilities.
