POSITION SUMMARY

You will play a pivotal role in gathering and validating timesheets, mastering payroll software intricacies, and ensuring accurate compensation aligned with federal tax regulations and State labor laws. This person must perform work of a specialized and confidential nature. As a key player, you will be at the forefront of resolving payroll-related matters with urgency, embodying integrity and confidentiality.

OBJECTIVES

  • Gather and examine timesheets to ensure their validity
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes
  • Using QuickBooks, perform billing and invoicing procedures with accuracy and timeliness
  • Entering start and end times into Paylocity payroll software
  • Capture approved PTO and sick leave requests
  • Ensure compensation for overtime work is calculated at the appropriate rate and that annual leave is calculated accordingly
  • Confirm legally mandated and optional deductions have been processed correctly
  • Prepare and distribute softcopy electronic paychecks
  • Perform all payroll related tasks well before the pay run to ensure staff members are compensated and notified on a timely basis
  • Address payroll-related inquires on a timely basis
  • Urgently and accurately work to resolve discrepancies in payroll payments


COMPETENCIES

  • Familiarity with payroll software
  • Excellent data entry, data cleaning and math skills
  • Knowledge of legislation and procedures pertaining to salary deductions
  • Capacity to keep track of all ongoing tasks
  • Adherence to all prescribed ethical guidelines, including confidentiality
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, including high proficiency in all MS Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions
  • Demonstrate strong relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically, in order to develop the best strategy
  • High level of integrity, self-confident with an history of producing results
  • Ability to demonstrate independent thinking as well as a teamwork approach to job responsibilities


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required
  • Experience processing payroll through Paylocity preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in accounting and payroll required


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
  • This position will require up to 10% of travel
