AAA Central Penn is looking for a Customer Service-Oriented Service Technician to join our Automotive team. Service Technicians address automotive related issues and provide top notch customer service to our members, all with the ultimate focus of getting customers back “On-The-Go”. No experience necessary! Training will be provided!

This role is considered Essential Duty Personnel and is required to work as scheduled, including weekends and holidays, regardless of weather conditions.

Essential Functions

  • Performing roadside assistance including on-scene evaluation and diagnosis, vehicle entry, changing flat tires, delivering fuel, and resolving minor mechanical issues such as replacing a fuse etc.
  • Performing battery service including testing the vehicle’s current battery, observing the battery and charging system condition, preparing a vehicle for battery installation and installation of the replacement battery, explaining the battery’s warranty, and completing the necessary documentation.
  • Determine appropriate service for the customer, explain service options, and build awareness of all AAACP products and services.
  • Independently make appropriate decisions and apply company policies, procedures, and AAA Quality Standards.
  • Promptly notifies the supervisor if any defects, problems, or concerns are identified.
  • Maintaining assigned vehicle and provided supplies and materials including inspecting the conditions of tools and equipment, digital onboard systems, and safety equipment on a daily basis.
  • Provide positive customer experiences, demonstrating the appropriate level of urgency, discipline, empathy, and professionalism in every situation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with automotive repair or roadside assistance preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Customer service skills including understanding and anticipating customers’ needs and expectations, and strives to exceed them.
  • Use exemplary customer relations and interpersonal skills in resolving problems, dealing with emotions, and demonstrating a positive, caring attitude during each interaction.
  • Active listening skills to listen, interpret, understand, and processes verbal information, ask probing questions for clarity to ensure that all key information is accurately obtained and/or conveyed.
  • Problem-solving skills to analyze information, identify alternatives, and make sound logical decisions.
