1099 CAT Claims Desk Adjuster

In pre-emptive for the upcoming CAT season, Hancock is looking for seasonal 1099 CAT Claims Desk Adjuster to join our roster.

The Claims Adjuster is an independent contractor who will apply knowledge of current insurance policies, applicable regulatory standards, and procedures to investigate, evaluate and settle moderate homeowner's property claims in a timely and efficient manner while providing exceptional customer service. We are looking for someone who possess the ability to work independently with no supervision over daily activities to successfully review, evaluate assignments and estimates.

This is a 1099 Subcontractor position (Remote)

The following reflects essential functions for this role but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Depending on business needs, management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this role over time.

Overview:

  • Overseeing and evaluating files managed by independent adjusters, ensuring claim files contain sufficient documentation to justify all coverage, liability, damage and claim resolution decisions
  • Responsible for reviewing adjuster reports and estimates to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with industry guidelines and standards, utilizing Xactimate to examine files and estimates and requesting additional information when necessary
  • Capable of directly communicating with vendors and adjusters to review claims and associated documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction by promptly resolving issues through various channels such as phone calls, emails, texts, and written communication.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies and appropriate application of coverage. Confirm all appropriate file documentation is included for completion of the review process
  • Understand and follow all best-practices guidelines to ensure that all client expectations are met
  • Monitor and maintain individual queues to ensure that files are being completed in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of property desk claim handling experience or similar experience required
  • Xactanalysis collaboration experience required
  • Must hold a valid/active claim adjusting license (states may vary)
  • Knowledge of property insurance policy and coverage analysis
  • At least Xactimate L1 Certified
  • Possess strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills to handle varying workloads due to seasonal volume changes and catastrophes
