You’re struggling to improve your data analysis skills. Can machine learning tools help?
If you are struggling to improve your data analysis skills, that likely means you have not mastered SQL, Python, or even a BI tool. In that case, I would not recommend jumping into machine learning tools if you do not even have the basic skills to do data analysis. I would recommend starting to learn SQL and Python to understand how data is structured and the various forms it can be sourced. People commonly think a new tool is going to solve their problems, and the result is usually more problems. I highly recommend gaining a full understanding of your business and clear data governance of what certain dimensions and metrics are defined as across your company before implementing a tool that no one knows how to use.

You're struggling to make sense of your data. What AI tools can help you make better predictions?
If you are struggling to make sense of your data, then you are likely far from the point of selecting an AI tool. A big mistake is buying a tool expecting it to fix your problems - that is why organizations end up in tool sprawl with more issues than they started with. You need to first meet with the line of business owners to map out what dimensions and metrics (KPIs) are important to them. You have to understand their desired business outcomes. Once you understand this, the following tools can be helpful: DataRobot: automate feature engineering process and enable data preparation for modeling Trifacta: visually explore, clean, and transform data with slick UI KNIME: create visual workflows to explore and prepare data with drag and drop

How can you effectively use pie charts in business intelligence?
After a few years in BI, the first thing I would tell a customer is "I am useless until I understand your use case". Best practice when considering any visualization type is to first understand the desired business outcome and user personas. You can create the best looking report or dashboard, but it is useless unless you are addressing what the business needs. If a customer is looking to quickly see a breakdown of a certain fact by dimension i.e. Sales by Region - pie chart is a great viz as a user can immediately see which slice is the largest vs. smallest, etc. However, it ultimately relies on the use case and what the user is responsible for to meet the business outcome.
