ABSTRACT: Disclosed is a self-cleaning double block and bleed valve. The valve includes a plug modified to divert a portion of the fluid flowing through the valve into and through a cavity located beneath the plug. The diverted fluid passing along a secondary flow path beneath the plug and subsequently rejoining the primary flow path. The diverted fluid removes debris, sediment or sludge from the cavity beneath the plug.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to improved LMO composition suitable for use as cathode material in rechargeable lithium ion batteries. The LMO composition may be doped with an additional metal or undoped. The LMO composition carries a surface treatment of LiF that protects the LMO from acid degradation. Cathodes prepared from the improved LMO have improved fade characteristics.

Abstract: Disclosed invention is an improved sealing system for axially split, centrifugal pumps. The improved sealing system eliminates the need for a gasket between casing halves. In the improved sealing system, a fluid tight seal is provided by an elastomeric cord positioned within a groove carried by the flange of at least one half of the axially split pump casing.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for decapping single wall carbon nanotubes and purifying the decapped single wall carbon nanotubes. The disclosed methods include the steps of oxidizing the single wall carbon nanotubes to remove the terminal end cap and subsequently acid washing the single wall carbon nanotubes to remove the catalyst particles. The resulting carbon nanotubes have improved BET surface area and pore volume.

Abstract: The current invention provides a detector and method suitable for sensing vapor-phase hydrogen peroxide. The detector utilizes a chemiluminescent material comprising a peroxide reactive compound, a dye and a solvent. Upon reaction with hydrogen peroxide, the chemiluminescent material will generate detectable light.
