Putting something in writing can help, but it helps to discuss it or go back and forth. Set proper expectations. If you can, align up front with what you intend to deliver and then stick to it. Changes are something that happen in the industry all the time, that is why there are change management processes in large projects, so that each side is align on how to make changes with full agreements.

If they have feedback, understand the ask. Why would they say that? Is it real or just a tactic to lower cost or add additional services for free? If it's a new customer you may not understand their reaction, meaning they might not understand, might be angling for something, or might have misunderstood the scope. Work together when possible, and push back when necessary.

It also pays to know their personality. Some customers complain that so that they can save money, it's a game for them to try to either get more work for the same price or shave costs off the deal. That is why it's best to be aligned as best you can ahead of time.

Listen, as much as you try it's hard to meet someone's expectations the first time. It's not a race but a challenge to get to understand where each of you stand. The key is to communicate and then try to meet in the middle where it's a win-win for both of you. I want to do the work and feel I can deliver, I set expectations for that in a Scope of Work (SOW). The customer wants their solution and use case met. I came here to facilitate that. We have to find common ground and also understand what can be done. That means it's a conversation. They will tell you what their expectations are and you can tell them what you expect to deliver. Feedback before, during, and after the project can be good as long as you're aligned with the customer.

Most people put their routers on the floor and wonder why in other rooms it's not so good. I would recommend putting it up on a table so it can cover farther in your home. Remember, RF is RF and you want the antenna to have some height and be clear of anything that could lower the signal. Also, metal blocks RF. Keep it clear of things like a printer, sculpture, monitor, or anything else you may try to hide behind. Display it in the open and have some pride! Show off your router. When you hide the router, you could weaken the signal or block it altogether. Show it off, improve the signal, and reap the benefits!

This is easy to check, just open up your Wi-Fi setting on your device and you can usually see the signal strength. Make sure you're not in airplane mode, but today the Wi-Fi stays on so it should be a. non-issue.
