Happy Monday all, with so much going on in this world of ours I wanted to remind everyone to start their week with kindness. Recruiters- respond to candidates you haven't gotten back to or try and give feedback to those who have not received them. Companies- please focus on candidate and employee experience, I promise we do not take this lightly and we all appreciate it more than you know. Job seekers- if it has not worked yet, your application process or your current resume, then please do something different. It makes all the difference in the world to have resumes specific to industry or seniority of a role as long as it is still representative of work you've done. Those employed- if you know someone with a green banner posting, please share their posts! If you know someone who can benefit from you referring them, please refer them. If your company is hiring and you see the job posting, share it on your feed! But all of us, let's be good people and continue to progress together. Have a great week ahead! Cheers! #kindness

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) provides minimum wage and overtime pay protections to most employees. Employees generally must be classified as “non-exempt” and, therefore, be eligible for such minimum wage and overtime protections unless they meet the criteria to be classified as “exempt” from minimum wage and overtime requirements. Typically, only employees in certain positions who meet certain salary and job duties criteria set forth under the FLSA may qualify for an exemption. On April 25, 2024, Maryland enacted the Wage Range Transparency Act (WRTA), which expands pay transparency requirements for employers under the state’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA). I know WAY too many amazing HR professionals remaining out of work or in transition for far too long. I keep finding myself asking, what is the unemployment rate for HR professionals? The current unemployment rate is 4.7% in my home state of New Jersey and 4.0% nationally as of May. I cannot find the unemployment rate for HR pros anywhere. Every stat I can find says that employment of HR Managers is projected to grow 5% thru 2032, which is faster than the average for all occupations. Why doesn't it feel that way? What gives? Just know, it is not you. You are not alone! STAFFING MYTH BUSTED: there is no magic candidate pool! 🫢 (Nope, not even the one that 3rd rep of the week promised. 🫣) We are all sourcing from the same population impacted by: 👉🏼economic factors 👉🏼generational trends 👉🏼surplus availability of jobs Each agency navigates this differently. I saw a post that said HR people can’t be everything, everywhere, all at once…and it’s the truth. Life isn’t an award-winning movie. A lot of our problems can’t be solved within two hours, especially for HR professionals. There are so many things we deal with in our industry, from hiring talent to offboarding and everything in between. Sometimes, it’s hard to stay focused while managing the emotions and experiences of the whole organization. I think the most important thing to realize is that we have to take things one step at a time. We get to break down problems, and decide which steps to take—the steps that’ll benefit your team the most. You can’t be everything everywhere all at once…but you *can* impact employee experience for the better. ⭐ #workplaceculture #talent #HR #peopleops

This should be made essential communication in every work place. The difficulty I run into is not having 100% buy in from leadership. As a consultant this will be required training and implementing for all clients. It all starts with civil conversations.
